2021 Oldenburg Gelding by Apiro (Argentinus/Pilot), out of Malibu
This flashy gelding is a top hunter prospect with a wonderful disposition. He has a quiet, intelligent character and has been a pleasure to raise. He is correct in his conformation with big, expressive gaits. He has a striking resemblance to his sire and we were so pleased with this guy that we repeated the cross for 2023 and 2024. With his dam and sire, there is no doubt that he will be a lovely hack winning mover with a super jump, and the temperament that every amateur wants.
His sire, Apiro, is a son of the legendary Argentinus, who had offspring competing at the international levels in both dressage and jumping for many years. Argentinus was Stallion of the year in 2005, a successful advanced level showjumper and became Germany's youngest millionaire based on money won by his progeny. He was renowned for passing on his willing temperament to his offspring. Apiro’s dam is by the exceptional jumper sire, Pilot, who was the first show jumping stallion with progeny to earn one million deutschmarks. Apiro is known for producing talented offspring with exceptional temperaments, good movement, and adding scope to their jumping.
Her dam, Malibu, has spent most of her life as a childrens hunter and “worth her weight in gold” lesson horse. She has a very pretty type and phenomenal temperament that she passes to her foals.
Adagio has a nice start under saddle. He is relaxed and happy to hack around the arena or fields. Smart and has been easy to get going. Price will increase with training.
