Let's start with bloodlines...
Dionysus ESH is by the impressive stallion, Devon Heir. He is by De Niro, unarguably the best son of Donnerhall, and out of a direct Rubinstein daughter (R like Rubinstein, R like rideability they say!). Devon Heir is everything you would expect from his breeding: beauty, super temperament, top movement, and unbeatable character. He was the highest scoring Hanoverian of his 100 day performance test and the winner of the American Hanoverian Society licensing. He won numerous USDF Breeders Championships and climbed the levels up to Prix St. George with excellent scores with a young rider. His successes with a young rider demonstrates his phenomenal character and rideability! His foals are not just for the dressage ring, as he has multiple successful hunters to his credit as well.
His is out of the Oldenburg mare, Wolkentina. She is by Wolkentanz II, one of the best sons of "Stallion of the Century" Weltmeyer. Known for exceptional movement, two of our best broodmares at Eclipse Sporthorses are proudly sired by Wolkentanz II. Wolkentina's dam was our foundation broodmare, Boston Dancer, who is happily sound and riding today at nearly 26 years old. Wolkentina was presented for Hanoverian breeding approval in Fall 2021 and received an "8" for her neck and "9" for her head, with excellent compliments from the inspectors. Dionysus ESH will mature to 16.2-16.3 hh with a solid body and excellent bone. He has a charming, inquisitive character and is very intelligent. He is strikingly handsome and is easy to pick from the herd of foals in his pasture. He is a very good mover, and far fancier than the video portrays. As with all foals, they grow in one place, then another, and if you're lucky you get your pictures and videos on their best days. I'd say our timing was a bit behind the ideal and he was a bit "growy" for his video. Check out his fabulous parents and you won't have a doubt that you're getting a super quality Hanoverian colt.
