Overview

Daichi ESH is one of those horses that makes everyone want to spend more time at the barn. From the moment you meet him, his people-seeking personality is impossible to miss. He has a friendly, confident way about him that makes him genuinely fun to be around on the ground and under saddle.

On the flat he is super through the walk, trot, and canter, with easy, willing lead changes and a steady, lovely cadence that makes every ride feel harmonious. He is athletic and forward, but never hard and very adjustable. He has been to multiple hunter and jumper show venues and has been a very good boy in every environment, handling the atmosphere with the confidence of a horse who has done it for years. He cruises around 2’6" courses at home and offsite. He rides brideless and hacks around the farm on a long rein. He has been schooled by a variety of riders in lessons, including young riders, which speaks to his genuine versatility and kind nature.

Sire: Diamondhead (Diamond Hit / Hohnstein)

Diamondhead is a USDF Horse of the Year in both 2008 and 2016, winning Championships and high score awards through Grand Prix with scores into the 80s. He has three incredible gaits with superb power and balance and is prepotent for improving topline, uphill balance, generous bone, and strong feet. His offspring are winning in both dressage and hunter rings.

His sire, Diamond Hit, is a living legend of the dressage world. A Hanoverian stallion by Desperados, Diamond Hit contributed numerous licensed sons, Bundeschampionat and World Championship winners, and many upper-level competitors. He is one of the most influential sires of the modern era. His dam sire, Hohenstein, brings type, expression, and high rideability, and his dam Heidefee has two approved sons.

Dam: Wolkentina (Wolkantanz II / Lil Fappi)

Wolkentina is registered with the German Oldenburg Verband and approved for breeding with the American Hanoverian Society. At her mare inspection in 2021, she received an incredible 9 for her head and 8 for her neck, among other lovely scores. She has been a fabulous producer for our program and Daichi is no exception.

Her sire, Wolkantanz II, is a highly successful dressage stallion by Weltmeyer, who is one of the most influential stallions in modern Hanoverian history: the 1987 performance test winner and Bundeschampion, Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 1998, and producer of over 4,600 registered foals, 86 licensed sons, and 433 State Premium mares. Wolkantanz II passes Weltmeyer's celebrated movement quality and rideability directly through the dam line.

Daichi is confidently walk, trot, and cantering in the arena with easy lead changes and is hacking out calmly around the farm. He has been ridden by a variety of students in lessons, including young riders. He is registered and branded Hanoverian and is lifetime registered USEF.
