2009 black/bay Oldenburg colt

Handsome 2009 Premium German Oldenburg colt by Rosenthal.  Rico is a very correct dark bay colt with a big star, faint snip, and 2 diagonal socks.  He is by the lovely Hanoverian stallion Rosenthal (Rubinstein/Karon/Woermann), who was the 2007 #1 Dressage Breeding Stallion and #7 Hunter Breeding Stallion for the USEF and is the all-time top leader of premium foals for the Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society.   Rico is out of the MMB German Oldenburg Verband mare, Boston Dancer, who received nice marks at her inspection and has produced several fantastic foals for our breeding program.  Rico is lifetime registered with the German Oldenburg Verband, USEF, and USDF.  Rico should mature to 16.2-16.3 hh. His full sister, Rueda, is a fantastic yearling and we are excited to have another  of the same cross coming along.

Rico received a premium award at his GOV inspection in July 2009. He showed very sucessfully on the line in 2009, receiving an impressive 80.8% and qualifying for the USDF Southeast Breeders' Championships at his first show. Rico finished out the 2009 show season ranked #1 in the United States for GOV weanlings in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding. At his first show in 2010, Rico qualified for the USDF Southeast Breeders' Championships - watch for him in the showring this season and at the Championships!

Rico is handled daily and well socialized.  Great for the vet and farrier and up to date on everything.
